Solo Rex Chainsaw Sparkplug Gap

Hi All

I have a solo rex 125cc which runs great on tick over but splutters and takes a while to get to high revs

When cold I have to hold the throttle fully in for about one minute until it clears the spluttering

I have looked on the internet and have 2 conflicting settings for the spark plug gap , one says 0.63mm and the other says 0.25mm

When set at .63mm the engine will not rev high at all just splutters but tick over good

When set to .3mm the engine will rev high after holding the trottle for about 20 seconds

The carb has been rebuilt and the fuel lines have all been changed

about .5mm is the norm for chainsaws.

Running rough until fully heated usually means a leak. It’s sneaking extra air.
