Some Stihl Pics and Collection updates

Went down to a friend's today to play a little chainsaw, do some horse trading, and get some treatment my CAD. We had quite a line-up going there for a little bit! Pictured is an 056Super, 038AV Mag, 038AV, 056Super, 038SuperPro, and a Husky-somethin-somethin. Think he said it was a 285XP with a modded air filter. We got everything up and running, tweaked the idle and top-end settings on a couple of them, and cut some cookies in a piece of old locust. Then he brought out his resto'ed 045Super for some group pics and even made a virgin cut with it in the locust (yes, it's the one you've been seeing on eBay). I wound up leaving my 038AV and coming away with the 038 SuperPro and case, but I kept my Duromatic-E bar and chain from the 038AV. I also got back one of the 056Supers I had sold him two months ago. He got the SEM ignition right and has it running like a top. It now wears a 24" ES bar. The other 056 is mine. It's an older points saw that has been rebuilt and converted to electronic ignition with an ignitor in place of the points. I love the old torque monsters for bucking and getting in a good work-out (I'm still young!). Now I have two 056Supers that fire right off and are ready to go on a moments' notice. The newer 056 with the 24" bar is the one I had cosmetically restored over the past 3 years and converted from Bosch to Sem ignition, but I had ran into grounding issues that I couldn't solve and essentially gave up on the saw. I also sold him my other 056Super which was in great shape with felling dawgs and a full-wrap handle but had a bad Bosch coil. He's got that one running too, but he wants to re-time it, which is somewhat involved on these saws.

Anyway, a great Stihl day, and I really like the 038SuperPro; not to mention having TWO 056Supers again!
