He lowered himself onto the chainsaw after being shot with a non-lethal round by a policeman. It's too bad we can't get both sides of the story on that one...

hope he filed the cutters and set the depth gauges first..........................

This sound a bit weird.
If he had a firearm illegal or not, don't you think that would be a choise better than a saw.
#Would you use a saw to intimmidate a swat team if you had fire arms???
#If you did, and had it running infornt of you, would you fall on it if shot from the front???

that incident happened just before christmas. Who knows why he did it, kind of a little late to ask!

My Macs are ready and able to kick some Stihl behind in the torque department.
Speed, no, but torque is plentiful.

gotta say I'm a little skeptical like mange... not saying it didn't happen, but trying to picture this. He gets shot with say a beanbag or rubber bullet, then kneels down, revs up the saw and falls on it? Where... head? chest? ...keeping the thing full throttle the whole time till he stops twitching? Just sounds a little strange.

On the high idle lock the clutch is engaged, doesn't take much power or chain speed to cut flesh. He could disembowel himself without ever hitting bone. Or plunge cut up under the ribcage to the heart. Doable if you ask me, not that I want anyone to try and prove it mind you.

The thing I was implying was he might not have voluntarily taken any action. It would probably take either a pretty large man or one stoked up on PCP or something to not pretty much collapse in pain after being hit with a "non-leathal" round fired at close range. If he was holding a running chainsaw, especially if it was on fast-idle, and collapsed onto it, I'd just about consider that to be murder. At the least involuntary manslaughter.

Like Liddy says, if you're going to shoot someone, make sure they're dead so you only have one story.
