Howdy all,

I am pleased to join this wonderful group, and I am asking for help in fixing my old Homelite 150 Auto.

The spark plug boot and clip pulled off the ignition wire. While looking for a replacement spark plug wire assembly, I found this replacement boot that closely resembles the original:

However, I am really doubtful that I can assemble this on the wire. In order to analyze the break, I pulled the clip out of the old boot, and it did not come out easy. The coil part pretty much uncoiled as I yanked it out. Can anyone give me some guidance on how to do install a new boot and clip?

Thanks,
Andy

You stick the little prong into the spark plug lead, and then slide the whole thing up into the spark plug boot and make sure it's turned the right way. It's really easy.

Easy.First a bit of oil on the boot itself.Slide it on the wire down few inches enough to clear the wire end.Install the clip on the wire end and slide back your boot over it.Voila

Actually not so bad!

Once I figured it out, it wasnt so bad at all. I used silicone in the small end of the boot, shoved the wire in that end, dug it out of the large end, pulled it out, squeezed the electrode on, and shoved it back in the hole. Gosh it was SO much easier that way!

Hey I have a 150 auto too. Hows that anti-vibration system working for you? Wish mine was running. It needs a new fuel line and I havn't had the time. They sure beat the ranger hands down. What a difference 10cc can make.
