Hi! Looking at the speeco 25 ton splitter with 5.5 honda.Looks like the best one i have to chose from here in ontario! Best out of 2 i have found!!!You guys use one or know anything about??This one and a 20 ton surge master are the only ones around??? Have read all the posts on the other ones but no luck finding a dealer up here???:chainsaw: :greenchainsaw:

Mine is the 35 ton model. It does what i need it to do. Have had no problems with it. They make a good splitter.

I have lurked here for a long time. I have the 22 ton sppco model, the 25 ton has the larger ram and motor, the motor blows exhaust on you while you are using it. The 22 ton is quiet and sips gas. For someone doing 10 cord a year go with the 22 ton model. If you are using it for a business I would still do the same, 22 ton model. I have yet to find a piece of wood that it would not split!:greenchainsaw:

I have the 25 ton and I've had no problem with oak rounds that size. Even with knots and crotches in that size as well.

I've had my little speeco splitter for years. Never had any problems with and it splits about anything. The little B&S motor is about shot but it's still running. I think mine is a 20 ton, everyone else has talked about the 22 ton. It might be a 22 ton though, I'm gonna check that out tomorrow.

good feed back boys!!!! Looks like i'll be getting it this week!I'll post pics of all the work i have for it!!!!!!thanks!!!

her they are !!! Just did a couple of chunks now going to check it over!!! I did split them vertical with no problems!!!! some pics of more work!!!

excellent choice!

hopefully you'll find out why there's soooooo.. many positive feedbacks on AS about Speeco splitters.

I've got the 35ton version, but loads of folks post they can't find wood they can't split with the base 22 ton model.

like most mfg's Speeco inflates their ratings... my 35 ton is in reality closer to 25 ton.

main complaint with Speeco is slow cycle times. wish mine was a bit faster.... instead of spending $$ to upgrade, will get a TW-5 when the right deal comes along.

I noticed the speeco in the pics has the side shelf. Is that the speeco shelf? Did it require drilling holes in the H or I beam? How sturdy is it?
The attachment in my pic was purchased from a guy on ebay called "33flame" for about $60. He recommends that it be mounted by drilling 3 holes. I found that the Speeco 35 ton comes with two holes already predrilled. I simply inserted two 5/8" bolts with large washers and slip the bracket under the bolts held to the beam with the washers. It is rated for 250lbs. I had a diamond plate welded to the bracket. It keeps the small stuff from falling thru. I initially used plywood held with zip ties.
