Hello all
Relatively new here so I am not sure if this is in the right forum. If it is not....please feel free to move it to the correct forum
I am a property manager for approx 200 acres of cedar swamp/bush here in Southern Ontario. The landowner has asked the probability of erecting a split rail fence across the front of his property to replace the broken down page wire that was there before.
We have ample logs for the project... as a matter of fact I found about 3 acres at the back corner of the property that is all 10"-14" cedars with no branches up to about 25'. Since these trees are all top heavy and the soil is mostly peat.... they are all leaning over about 15 deg, so i hope i can go in and harvest a few before they fall over into the swamp and rot.
I have found a few links to splitting logs...however they are all done by hand... has anyone seen a machine that is capable of splitting logs that are 10' to 12' in length?
Thanks for the help
Ger
