That's how they do it over there, cut to one meter, split, then recut it and sell it or burn it. Cubic meter is their standard volume measurement.

Why is it that all of the neat wood processing equipment has been from the Europeans? I've never seen anything like that in the U.S.

That is awesome. A short run conveyor or something to dump splits in bin, tractor bucket or firewood bag would be killer.
