greetings my distant friends;
once every now and then, when you wonder through the woods you may stumble upon some leftovers; some upon interesting stuff.

on an such ocasion I have found a riffle. it was stashed with care in some sapling gathering. it was a little rusty but very nice. I had to turn it to the local police station. but them folks were surprised to see me coming from the woods with two big guns (my AK47 and the hunting riffle)

on an altogheter different ocasion I have found an world war old german machine gun. verry rusty and unusable. don`t know what happened to it....it was long ago.

I was wondering: have you guys found interesting stuff in the wilderness?
if so, what have you done with it ?

cheers

When I was training in Germany with the army about 10 years ago, I found a can of WWII army peanut butter IN a tree, the tree had grown around it, I work for about an hour carving it out, and found a sirette ( don't know if it spelld right ) of morphine behind it. I don't know what happened to either, brought them home, but misplaced them.

Nuthin as good as a gun that's for sure, nice work telep. Could you tell what model rifle it was, many here are collectors of firearms. Anyhoo what you're huntin with an Ak in them tranny woods? A wee bit big for squirrels and nay good for vampires. You wait till Stihl Sawin and his lot finds ya they'll want to know the barrel n breach serial numbers.

LOL
that`s good stuff guys,
no, I was an jandarm for 6 years and we had lots of applications into the woods.
that`s why the AK47
the riffle I have found it was I think made in ex Yugoslavia; Zastava. nice piece.
couldn`t keep it though; what if it was used in a murder ? :D

boy, the serial numbers....ouch, I had like 4 AK47 in that 6 years but I try to remember the serials.... no can do; it was like AO 7998 one of them and others with AZsomethin

funny, it was the closest thing for awhile and now I`m empty

I have never personally found anything like that but I have a friend that I chat with in Germany who found an old MG42 machine gun from WWII, My cousin has found buttons and trinkets from the civil war, One of the guys I worked for in Atlanta, GA had a collection of ball shot from the civil war that he had found in some of the large, mature Oaks he had removed in the city.

The best I have ever found is arrow heads left behind by Native Americans.

Found a Stihl 020t in the bushes of the property we bought...the bar was bent and the clutch rusted up...had a new clutch put on, new bar & chain...good to go.
It became my climbing saw for about four years when I first started my business!:chainsaw:

I once have seen on tv that some guy found a tree with a Jesus statue in it; I think that the trunk of the tree was carved to fit the crucifix and in awhile it closed on it, covering the extremities. it looked cool as if jesus was emerging from that tree; peoples were taken it as a sign.

When I was about 12 I found a live 50 BMG bullet in a park behind city hall and the police station. I can't remember what we did with it.

Billy

I was up in the Mountains for a while and as I was walking around I came across this guy holding a rifle frozen to a tree.

I kept the rifle and became a Mountain Man. Hers a pic of my find.

I was in the Army in Germany from 97-01 with the first ID. i assume you were in Graff or Hoen when you were training?

no, I am not an hunter.
here to be a hunter you have to register and for 3 years I think you have to be "gonaci" that`s a guy who is herding the game.
and after that you hunt in groups only; a bunch of rednecks to hunt few ducks.
is forbidden to hunt alone and for me that`s true hunting.

my grandfather had the bug. he took a lot of beating from the communist regime for having riffle. the wwII machine gun I have found in the garden, he put it there. but back then when the bastards came to your house and took all your crops for the greater good of the nation, it was hunting for food; not sport. and that is the only good justification for hunting I think.
nowadays, my parents raise roosters and turkeys and pigeons (and in the past rabbits) so there is no need for hunting.

Shouldn't that read here's the rifle that killed the bear that killed me Jeremiah

yep, that`s the one; my best guess is that Jeremiah Johnson goes here by the name Stihl-O-Matic.
Busted ! we know now who you are.
