Was looking at my homelite 330 and decided to check out the sprocket. What do you guys think? Is there another cord or two in this one?

NO. it is worn out. the good news, you can get a rim setup for that saw. I did. cost about $30 I think. then you have a choice of 7/8t rims instead of just the 7t spur.

Yes but choose the 7 pin for that saw.

Another advantage of the rim sprocket is that your chain is better supported and will be spared much of the battering of the side-strap bottoms and drive link tip that a worn spur sprocket will inflict on the chain. The rim can also be reversed for double service. Whether a spur or rim sprocket is used, it is equally important to keep excess slack adjusted out of the chain if full service life is to be had from the chain, sprocket, and bar.

Sweet, shes only JUST broken in, see those grooves in the spur thats what the chain likes to grip on, get NO chain slippage that way.. Maximum power!!

teeeheee

Unless a tooth is broken I would have to agree with the 056 kid. It just doesn't look that worn out.

The depth of the gouges in the teeth indicates the spur must be replaced or else the chainsaw gods will strike you down.

Me? I'd replace it when the chain snaps....

sheesh, I can find the italic button and the bold butn but I just can't find the option for sarcasrtic typing... haha

will it cut yes. should it be replaced yes. a sprocket doesntcost much. that one just makes it harder on chain an saw. put u a good setup on the saw.
u will see a big difference in performance ,im thinking..

Well it looks like the verdict is in and the 330 will get a new sprocket. And to think that one was only on there for 16 + years. Makes me sad to see it go. Kind of like having a kid graduating high school.
