Hello all,
I am new here, but I am certain that I will browse and comment on this forum a bunch.
Here is my question: I have a Stihl 029, I am running .325, .063, 20" and I have been very happy with that pitch and guage. I always us a chipper or skip chain and I like the way it handles.
I just bought a Stihl 031 on *bay for a good price because my poulan backup saw croaked. I am reasonably certain that the 031 used a 3/8 pitch. Checking Stihl's site, they show that the modern version of this saw can use the .325. I have extra bars and chains that will fit, but I am sure I will be in need of the proper spur sprocket. I have looked all over the web and I do not think that Oregon or GB make one for the 031 in .325 . Does anybody know of the proper Stihl part number to get such a beast? I would like to be armed with that info. when I go to the dealer so I can be sure that I get the proper one.
Thanks for all of you help,
Kindest Regards,
