starting a business. Where to buy equipment?

I'm starting up a small tree business here in western maryland. Wanting to know the best place to buy a used chipper and truck? Does anyone have any equipment they would be willing to part with. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I want to be able to look at the equipment before I purchase it, that is why I'm shying away from ebay. Thanks

Hagerstown and cumberland both have 2 big used eqmnt sales/auctions every year...spring/fall.....I'll have to find out when the spring sale is I get a email about a month before it happens. Might be able to googgle it??

Before you buy any thing learn about prices, problems and then you will know a good deal or a lemon when you see it !..... Mike

Heck, just look around your area....there are repo auctions goin on all over from all the tree services who have gone belly up because they didn't have enough work to pay the bills.

It's not like most who are still surviving are thriving either....I'd be scared to death to try to enter this market now with no prior customers and no reputation.

But if you've got a bunch of cash burning a hole in your pocket, go for it.

Can't help with the equip. but for most of us the next question financing . The Small Bussines Adm. can help w/ 90% garantee for your loan . The Score organization ( retired profesional volenteers ) can be a great help making a new buss. succeed . They won't help you climb trees but I'm not good with that other stuff !
