Stihl 009 Chain Brake

I just acquired a 009 and the chain brake feels really loose. When it is unlocked it flops back and forth. When it is locked it seems to be fine. It functions fine but its loose enough if you cut something overhead the brake handle will fall against your hand. My question is: Is that normal? I cant see anything missing or broken but it seems like there should be a spring somewhere other than the big one that makes it lock. Thanks for any info!
