I have here a Stihl 011 parts saws up for grabs. It's missing a few parts, but the major components are there. The inside of the cylinder and rings looked pretty good. I could not see any scoring or anything else out of the ordinary. It had a really nice spark until I loosened up the screws holding the could down. I could not re-gap the coil due to the lack of having anything thin enough to do the trick. I neglected to take some pictures, but will snap a few off soon. The flywheel cover/rear handle assembly and the forward half wrap handle are what appear to be missing.

If there are any questions on this feel free to fire them off. I just need to recoup a few bucks off of this.

I might be interested. I have a few miscellaneous 009 & 011 parts, & I'm wanting to put together some running saws to sell. I've also considered bundling them up, & seeing if someone with better mechtech skills wants them. Anyhow, pictures would be good, and also an idea on price. I'll need to check what I have, but the lack of a recoil might be a problem.

Dean, thanks for the offer. I have at least one complete recoil in pieces. As I recall it needs a rope, and I need a third hand to get the spring and clip back in. I just love winding up the spring, and then having it jump out & unwind. It's even more fun when it nails my arms and/or legs.

then everyone around gets to hear a sting of profanities from my mouth when I do that. its not as much fun as putting a new piston into something.

Alright, I got some pictures of the saw parts. I should probably have taken the pictures BEFORE putting a post up about it, but I guess this is fine.

I hope this clears up any other questions on what it looks like. The only thing I am not putting in the mess is the broken fuel lines, but I think that is for obvious reasons. The clunk weight with the filter is included, just in case anyone had any doubts.

As far as winding up those recoils, I have gotten pretty good at it. There is a trick to it. You use the little notch that is present on most of the reels and wrap once around until the line comes out the notch. From there you just tighten up the spring and it'll wind up the rest of the line if you got it tigh tight enough. If not, you just repeat until it does. That way you don't need to manually wind the line in.

Until someone showed me that trick, I had wondered what that notch was for.

They're talking about the spring itself, not replacing the rope. the rope is EASY, the spring, a royal PITA that makes me want some beers on hand.
