Hey guys, I am getting a free 011. Whats everyones opinion on these? I am going to use it as just a project saw anyone ever modified one? how do they run?

I have one, I don't use it much, but I think it's okay seems to be torquie for what it is.

Well compared to the newer pro saws, it takes much longer to tear it down, it's been a couple years since I tore into mine, but off hand I remember thinking while I was doing it, I wish I had been doing something better. The carb is in a awkward spot to get the fuel and vent line replaced. I had to replace the AV mounts on mine and it was time consuming. I haven't had to put a piston in one so I didn't tear it completely down but the handle assembly is goofy and awkward, so is the clutch and bar setup. I guess maybe we made it sound like it is really terrible to work on, but compared to the pro saws it is! It is just awkward, I don't know you'll see:cheers:

The only PITA I found with the 011 was the rod bearings.
If you pull the jug off be careful cause all the rod big end roller bearings fall out (12 of them if I remember correctly). Then you have use petroleum jelly to hold them there and work them around to get them all back in, keep the rod centered and slid the jug back on.:dizzy:
Other than that I didn't have a problem with it...........454
