Now i know this is a bit of a stupid question but reason i ask is i want to know where it stands in the lineup of saws.
a junk pawnshop saw would be the best saw ever compared to a handsaw.
now i read all about your saws and just want to know if my 021 is good or not.

As a part-time, occasional use saw for doing light tree work, the 021 is a good saw. The orange handle Sthil saws are basically Sthil's homeowner line, till I came to this site I honestly didn't know there was a difference. We have used the 021,025,039 in our tree biz, these saws have held up quite well considering some of the abuse they have taken over the years. The demands we have put on these saws would far exceed any homeowner type cutting.

Good maintence goes a long way in how long a saw will perform.

I generally agree with Ax-man, but I see little point in using the 021/210, as they weight about the same as 025/250 and has a lot less power......

thanks
i use it light tree trimming and the odd big dead tree removal.
i see some people here on this forum live in the city and some live in the forest so i can understand that you need the right saw for the job.
it is good to know i dont have junk and that the stihl name has some respect behind it.

later
i gotta go take down a row of caraganna's (spelling)

Downunder, we tend to look for the torque, as much as anything else. Saws can be deceptive in that cc's and brake horse power don't tell you the whole story.
