Are most all the Stihl 024 & 026 parts interchangeable? Can you put a 026 cylinder & piston on a 024 to upgrade it to a 026?

Ok ya I gotcha I used to live in Bangor Maine. I sell my 026 rebuilt with a warranty usually for $300-350 dependant on bar length and donation of plastics cosmetically. I actually just tore down a husqvarna 55 that I rebuilt last year.....did myself dirty and chanced it on a bearing I knew was likely to be a screamer....so just gotta get my worm gear pulled install new bearings and put that beauty back together and hopefully sell it for a good price as I'm over $350 deep on it now.
New England in general and Maine in particular.

Running 026s asking price seems to be $150 to 350 for a running saw.

Seems like 026 and Husky 50-51-55 are the most common for-sale Maine saws.

Here, a $350 026 might sell eventually, maybe. For that, one can get a good-running MS261.

A $400 Husky 55 would be more of a problem.

I have a $200 Husky 50 for sale right now, local-sale only, it runs great, new Caber ring, not even a nibble.

I have found saws are much cheaper In The north, maybe bc there's a higher demand. As far as no nibbles on your 50 Roy, the market had been really slow lately o. The used saws, seems many ppl are experiencing this while others have bo issues selling their saws. Ya I doubt I'll get $400 for that 55 but I'll list it for $450 and hope that ONE guy comes along who has to have it and wants to buy assurance and enjoy watching the youtube content of me working on that saw over that last year do you tinker as a hobby Roy??

Yes...hobby.

Actually, an affliction. I just can't say "no" to a 50 dollar, non-running, name-brand saw.

If the ones I fix pile up while waiting to sell...no big deal.

Right I used to be a drug addict I'm a Lil over 3 years sober but I get high on buying fixing and selling chainsaws 🤣🤣😍 and its almost as expensive as my old addiction lol
