Hi every one got an oiling problem with an 025 i bought. Its a 60.00 $ pawn shop jobby. Cosmetically it looks good and runs good just needed a sprocket bearing or needle bearings. Well any ways got the bearing in, starts every 3 or 4 pulls let it run for a minute then checked for oiling not flinging any oil off the chain.Pulled the bar and chain off , started the saw again { didnt rev it up} and there was just barely oil coming out.But were the oil is coming out of is a hole under and to the left of the exaust. Its not a crack or anything like that its suppose to be there but is it suppose to have a plug or something. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks Ryan: dizzy: Oh and i got some pics of the hole.

Remove the inner guide plate and clean out the crud in the oil channels. And make sure the bar's oil ports are clear too.

rreidnauer I did what you said. The bar had a little bit of a clog cleaned it up and the passages . Put it back toghether same thing so i took the bar back off ran it just a little bit of oil came out . Most of the oil is coming out of the hole under and to the left of the muffler looking straight at it.Somthing has got to be missing from that hole a plug relive valve etc.I took picturs and put them on here can anyone else see them maybe i didnt post them right. Any body else got any ideas any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ahh, in focus pictures!

60 bucks? Yea, you done good. Makes you wonder though, what these guys do to loose a plug from such a place, eh?

Thats kinda what i was thinking. I just dont see the plug just popping out . I guess ill never know. I cut with it for about 20 minutes ran and cut fine . Now it just needs a good cleaning. Heck if i didnt know about this site I would be running back and forth to the dealer asking questions, or until i got a manual, but i cant wait that long to get something fixed . Unless i need parts. Like the echo parts ive been waiting for for a week and half lol . Thanks for the good info. Ryan

If your plug has come out, you need to put in another stop. The plug is put in at the factory when the case is still molten and is not available as a spare part. For 029/029, I use the vent tube grub screw from an 090... I think it will fit an 025.. whatever you use it need to be very short.

090 vent screw - part number 0000 951 5815 -20 cents..
