installed new aftermarket coil, saw runs but will not turn off, original coil had small wire molded into bottom that went to ground ,new coil does not have this wire any suggestions?

The 025 coil should have a black wire with a ring terminal on its end that a retaining screw goes through the ring to ground the coil. It should have a spade terminal where the black wire that runs to the on-off switch plugs onto, the green wire with a yellow stripe returns from the switch to ground on the engine.

missing black wire

new coil does not have black wire w/ring terminal molded into coil ,it did come with extra wires but no place to plug them into coil.there is a spade terminal w/ wire from on/off switch plugged in

The older coils had a separate wire going to a ring terminal going to ground at the coil screws, the newer ones are grounded internally.

Basically, that spade terminal goes up to the throttle control, and grounds out when the throttle control goes to off. Hopefully the A.S. photos I have still loaded
have a pic, as I have shown a pic many times of the wiring.
