Stihl 026 $279

I seen Stihl 026s at the local John Deere dealer in Casey, Illinois for $279. That has got to be one of the best buys around.

I hope they run out of them soon.

No price fix

I keep hearing that Stihl dealers don't cut prices.

This must be an end of season clearance.

Do you suppose dealer cost is this low or did Stihl help on this. If not that is a pretty good margin $279 vs $400, about a 40% markup.

2 of 3 Stihl dealers near enough to me are also JD ag and lawn care dealers. List price is list...026 sells for $409.

Unless you order a new combine or tractor. Buy a commercial rear-steer mower, get a litle consumer chain saw to sweeten the pot. Buy a largeer item, goodies get better.

I bet this place is just reducing stock. Combines and big hp wheatland tractors aren't selling well this season. Sure bites for the little shop down the street, though.

life would be cruel if the kid putting up the sign actually got the 6 on upside down and they are really selling 029's for that price. the lowest quote i got on an 026 was $350 - powerhead only. and two dealers refused to sell just the powerhead.

Everyone would want that phone number, but unless the dealer is complete idiot, I don't know how this could be true. This is way under their cost and is one of their best sellers. Why cut price? I bet it is a return or something. They should just put a sign out front "Please take my money."

I did a locate for the Stihl dealer in Casey IL...called them...and an 026 is $409.00....the guy said the 025 was $279.00...and it was the one that sold John Deere also....thought it would be too good to be true.
