Stihl 028???

I have a Stihl 028 with heated handles built in '83!

Does anyone know what that saw retailed for new?

I have the reciept for an 028 Super I bought new in 1988. Price for that saw back then was $355. I know this doesn't quite answer your question but it will hopefully give you some kind of base to work off of. I would think the heated handle option would add $50 to $100 more to that price, never had a saw with heated handles so I am a little out of my league here.

Even back then Stihl saws were pricey. My very first saw was an 039 bought in '94. That saw was $550. I didn't know any better. Even if the saw was $450-$500 that was still expensive for that saw!

My Bluebook shows MSRP for a 028AVE Super Wood Boss at $354 in 1985.

I believe it would be much simpler to buy a new saw with heated handles, and keep the 028 as a backup.

What Is Rah's? Recently i did some researching on ebay and i found all the needed parts to make the 028 Av super heated handle to work except the heated handle it's self, and from what i have heard from others the handle is hard to find and pretty rare.

Yes it is a stihl pro model saw. It is an older stihl model, but a very good dependable saw. The super is the largest displacement 028 they made.
