There are two different style brake clutch covers for these saws. One is built similar to most others made today, where the brake stops the clutch with a band. The other is made to work with an odd contraption called an isolating clutch, which I believe works by disengaging the clutch via some zany engineering. These clutches and brakes cannot be mismatched.
