Stihl 032AV Electronic

I have been going through this saw and a little rubber piece fell out while removing engine from handle bar and top cover. Didn't notice it before separating. Not sure where exactly this fits if anyone knows these well pls chirp up. This is my first Stihl saw I've owned and second one ever worked on. Anyway, it was part of a nine saw deal I picked up over the summer I posted in the thread below. I have the 031AV and 041 AV Farmboss to get to when this one is running better. Cleaned carb inside and out twice and all diaprhagms are soft and pliable. Saw starts up nicely but doesn't like to come off choke. I think the needle valve lever needs to be bent a little bit more as after running it the metering diaphragm was dry. Going to test fuel cap in a bit but have done a pressure and vac test with no leak down. Just wanted to post this before I forgot about the piece in the first pic. I see it listed in some parts diagrams but still not quite certain.

Good saws.

Prob needs a new fuel filter, or a foam insert if original, to allow it to run with the choke off.

That black rubber plug fits in the front of the air box, above the impulse line connection.

IPL says that it is a plug.

Other day I pulled the filter out of the tank and it wasn't hard and crusty. Was saturated well with fuel. I need to test the cap in a bit just to verify the vent is working correctly.

Got back to this one press/vac tested fuel lines and cap....all good.Thanks for the info on the rubber plug, now seems super obvious. Anyway, bent the needle valve lever up just a slight amount and put back together. Starts, idles, and revs pretty good. Haven't made any test cuts yet. Saw had a relatively new 20" Oregon bar/chain that did not fit over stud shoulders....not sure why someone would run it like that but there was an extra Stihl bar around. Put the 16" Stihl Duromatic bar on it for now. If I can get the 031AV going I'll move the 16" bar to it and put the 20" Stihl bar on the 032.

Well, finally finished the last saws of the nine saw deal from the summer. All run with mostly some fuel lines, a few diaphragms, and minor work here and there. The most I spent was probably for some buffers for the Stihl 031 AV. They were all filthy of course. The last thing is finding a local Tig guy that can glue the 041 Farm boss handle back together. Once again, the purchase story is at the top of this thread if interested.

Just seen a 041 handle on ebay for this saw for 30 bucks sent. Most likely will be cheaper fix than having someone Tig it. I'm getting ready to order a scratch start tig setup for my Lincoln ac/dc but dont think I'll be ready to put this handle together yet.
