And NO, the 036 will probably outrun a 360, but both will lose to a 361.
I ran my rebuilt 036 Pro side-by-side against my Ms 361 with the same bar and chain on board. It was s dead heat. However, the 361 now has 1000 hours on it and the 036 Pro has a rebuilt engine that I did in my shop. Take it from there.

BTW, the 361 cost me $650 new back in 2008 and I bought the 036 Pro used and non-running for $190. I have a grand total of about $250 plus my labor in the 036 Pro. It's a heckuva saw.

THE BEST bang for the buck fire wood saw that there is, period!

Got a 361 that runs well. Sure there are improvements over an 036 but you'd be hard pressed to really notice much difference in the bush when collecting wood. Would happily own an 036 in place of the 361 if one was available at the right price. Hell I would probably buy one in addition to the 361 seeing the way my CAD is progressing... anyone got a nice 044?
