Stihl 038 handles!

Hey guys!
I recently picked up 4 038s.
1 magnum
1 super
2av one running one a parts saw

The magnum unfortunately had a dodgy repair in the fuel tank that leaks fuel so my question is do they all have the same handles so I can swap the handles between all models?
It’s got a metal handle that I don’t reallllly wanna swap out for a plastic replacement one unless it comes to that!

the mag tank/handle is early 038
i prefer plastic
they will swap
got a broke mag one here

Not sure of the extent of your damage from the photo. I was able to repair a split seam on the inside using a soldering iron through the filler hole on my 066. Made sure I emptied the fuel first

Nvm… just saw it was magnesium

Iv got a spare stihl plastic one but iv just noticed a big old crack in that as well! Looks like I might have to track one down or go with an aftermarket one.
The repair job looks like someone has tried a few layers but it still leaks like a sprinkler.

having sent stuff to aus b4, i will say it wont be cheap from here

Look for a local welder to tig your mag case cracks, you need to tear it down and soak acetone in the tank for a while and clean the outside with acetone well before having it welded.

I’m managed to track down a plastic one but I do want to get the magnesium one fixed! Will try track down someone to weld it up! Would like to keep it original
