stihl 038 super cyl assy replacement

New to this form.

Question about replacing a cyl assy on a 038 super. Some say a 038 magnum assy will fit, some say it won't.

Anyone had experience with this switch?

As far as I can tell there are two OEM numbers, 1119-020-1201 and 1119-020-1202

Welcome to the board.

The 038 magnum crankcase is different than the AV or Super so a magnum p&c is not a direct bolt on.

Do you know if it is just the bolt patterns that are different or is there an issue with the piston being too large and/or gasket issues too? I've got access to a bridgeport and could slot the bolt holes out easily. I'm assuming the magnums bolts are spaced out a bit further so the slotted holes would still fit up snug to the bolt locations in the case/cylinder.
