stihl 041 air gap info

hi i have an stihl 041. now i have to set the air gap on it. the armature plate moves any which way i move it there is no slack between the flywheel i modified. what am i doing wrong. is there difrent armatures for difrent 041s.. every which way i move the plate it is tight up against the flywheel and armature.
