stihl 042AV,parts

hi room, can any 1 help me out, i just got a 042 ,it runs great but it don`t have a top handle, and dealer said they can`t get them any more, does any 1 know where there is a junk 1 some body might have , and can any 1 tell me about this saw, was it a good model??????

Lots of power but a little on the heavy side. I will check the pile for a handle.

I have a few in the pile. Would rather get rid of them complete.They were the replacement for the 041 (I think ) Great powerhouse. Just did not hold up. At least not on palms.

Palms can be tough on ANY saw, especially if they do not receive extra attention because of the rough duty. Palm dust and crap will pack in around the cooling fins a lot faster than wood sawdust, and burn up a saw if it isn't cleaned off afterwards. I hate cutting palms, and give my saws an extra thorough cleaning when I have to cut them.

Thats what I mentioned on another thread. (there are saws & there are palm saws )
