Like the title said I have a 1980-1981 (by the serial number) 045AV non electronic non quickstop. I know the 045 super and 056 super has bigger jug that might fit (056 mag’s jug won’t fit) Just wonder if it is a bolt on? And is it possible to have chain brake? I will need a new sprocket cover, I know that much but beyond that I have no idea. If you got it done before, any advice would be much appreciated!

Been a few months since I’ve been on here, hope that Admin doesn’t delete this post for no good reason too…but yes to both the cylinder & brake questions.

If your saw has a black plastic swiveling hand guard, then the brake will bolt on. You may have to grind off the corner stop on the hand guard to allow it to swivel fully forward though.

Early 045AV saw only had a fixed hand guard.
