The starter is a bit snappy on this saw. if you don’t pull like bull she’ll try and pull your hand off! Anyone had this from a 064. I’ve reset the coil gap which was too close to the flywheel and cleaned the exhaust but no change.

For sure check for sheared flywheel key
Just had a look at the flywheel tried to remove with the my normal incorrect way - hammer nut and shaft whilst holding the flywheel- and it won’t budge. Ordered a puller as I don’t want to damage the shaft just wondering wether ypthe top of the key has sheared and is wedged between flywheel and shaft.

If the flywheel was loose enough on the taper for a piece of key to become lodged out of the keyway and within the taper- the flywheel would be wobbling and near fall off after the nut was removed.
More likely the flywheel is just in position properly and bearing on the entire taper surface and was correctly torqued down.
The key just holds the correct timing, the taper fit holds the flywheel in place on the crank- the correct puller should move the flywheel evenly and easily, but it never hurts to give it a dash of penetrating oil while you wait for the puller to arrive.
