Well just got her back together late PM/early AM... I know everyone likes pics so there are a few below. I have a couple questions though.

1.) is there a dual pawl clip for 076/760's? maybe looks close to this Spring Clip for Stihl 11281953500 / 630-111
I have a 076 cord wrap with 2 pawl holes but not sure where to source a dual pawl clip...???

2.) how many 076's had muffler cover spacers? see 2nd pic below...

3.) anyone got a PDF IPL for the 076? nstueve (a) gmail .com PLEASE and THANKS!

That is interesting with the guard/handle? Is it supposed to be there with the spacer or is it using one off a 051 then adapting for the wider frame?
Email sent.

I honestly don't know. the muff guard is a brand new 076 guard that i got for christmas b/c someone knew I needed one! the origional broken guard had these spacers installed inbetween with what looks like OEM hardware. There was also some aluminum plates that I think go in there but couldn't figure out how (been awhile since I took it apart and all...). Was looking for possible guidance from an IPL.

You can see this guy has the spacers as well... Google Image Result for http://billswoodcreations.com/images/q_lumber_01.jpg

1/2 way down this forum page another guy has them too...

OEM hardware for 076 or not??

might have found my answer... US vs non-US muffler design.

I'd also like to add that i am going to do a serious re-vamp of this muffler... I hate how it chars the nice muffler cover. I the design is for exhaust to come up the exhaust pipe then outward toward the top of the muffler where it exits the muffler port... then directed downward by the external baffel and into the muffler cover.

I'm thinking of cutting off the muffler baffel where it currently resides and sealing that hole, then adding a hole in the open area at the bottom of the muffer where the muffler clover alread has a big square opening. then install a new muffler baffel to bypass the gas strait out the square muff cover...

seems like the muffler chamber would actually be used then and you'd remove that black/brown charring from the muffler cover.

just wanted to post back that I looked at the IPL scott sent me and for whatever reason Stihl gave 2 options for a rope roter with single and dual spots for pawl(s). However, even though they show the dual pawl rotor, it IS NOT shown as having 2 pawls with a dual pawl clip for some reason??? don't know why but thought I would solve that mystery...
