what do one of these usually go for? i know you cant buy them brand new but what was the cost for a brand new saw and what do they go for now?

Why can't you buy them brand new?-Technically I guess the 088 has been superceded by the 880- but they are the same saw and the change was recent enough that new 088 are still around. They sell for $1000+

Check on ebay, sometimes there are new ones up for sale. You may get lucky and find a used on there as well

It's a bigun.They go any where from about $ 600,up.I've seen new ones,for around a $1000.Not what one would call a homeowners type saw.

well reason i was asking was i was on ebay and there was an 088 at about 750 and dude said he paid over 1800 for it. i was thinking the 1 was a typing error. btw how much does a 48inch bar with chain? just for reference............i plan to get a 880 with 36 bar and if i ever need bigger saw i will recommend bigger company.

There is one for sale in the used items section.... I think they are asking $1000- $1100. My guess is that any used 088 no matter how good the condition is not worth more than $850-$900 shipped. That would be the absolute highest amount for a saw that would be virtually new.

Full list retail is about $1,500.00 in the U.S. less for some reason in Canada.

I paid 1200.00 for mine and that was with a deal from the shop. Online I guess you can find them cheaper, but remember, dealer support isnt as good.

yes they are cheaper in Canada , but sense our dollar has gained so much on your dollar it is not as big of margin as it was a year ago. to me they are ok stock alot like the 3120 but once worked over they really rock , they gain alot of power with a little work on them, I am sure the full list price up here is less than $1500 ,

I believe the auction you are referring to is by a seller with "0" feedback. I would be very skeptical of that auction. I believe Lambert can still provide the best "net" deal on a new 088.

Hi Bill, thanks for the referal. With the dollar the way it is, a Canadian seller would have to get at least 1300$ U.S. for an 088 and 25" bar + shipping.
