I am having trouble getting parts/service on my Stihl 08S. Made around
1975, but with the new carb I somehow found a couple of years ago
still runs great.
Where can I get a new clutch?? Is there a good source for parts for
saws this old?
Thanks Bill Kimbrough

Depends on whether you want to "keep it original" and restore it, or, just get a clutch to work. The TS08 motor is still made in Brazil, so parts are available even after 40 years! The older clutches are quite different from that the newer types, but both work. Yes, a TS350 clutch will work, but the drum is of course not suitable. Bryce at cheapstihlparts has a boat load of 08 and 010 stuff, much of it not listed.

Stihl 08S:

Hello Wakrocket. Welcome to the forum. If you would like some interesting reading look under my thread, "What's up with Stihl." You'll get a chuckle or 2. I got my clutch sprocket from: jackssmallengine.com and clutch hub and shoes from the seller, cheapstihlparts on ebay. Hope this helps. Lewis.
