stihl 380

What do you all think of the stihl 380's they sell over seas. It seems to have more displacement than the 440 and less weight. I saw a stamp on one that said made in Brazil. Are they as quality as the 440 or are they more in the 290 to 390 quality?

More like the 044/440 in quality - pro saw - no doubt....

But it is heavier than the 440, and has a lower power rating, despite slightly more ccs.....

Thanks, Troll, would you be afraid of a saw made in Brazil? Sounds like I may be better off with a 440 made in Germany or USA?

I wouldn't - but as far as I know, all the 440s are made in Germany......

If you want one, move fast, as the heavier replacement (441) is already here......

The MS380 is basically the same as the 038 Magnum2. They were imported into the USA from Brazil in the mid 90's.. The quality is that of USA and German Stihls.
