For those needing a solution.
Kinda pricey but it is (Nascar) cool.

Why use something simple and reliable when you can use something cool, complicated, and crazy?? haha
The vent is a one way valve to let air into the fuel tank, but it doesn't let the air out. If it was a 2 way vent with a filter on it, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But if overfilled, a 2 way can dribble fuel out at certain angles.Isent the problem caused by the vent? What’s the vents purpose? equals pressure right?
Dave at CCC has a cheap solution. Most of my flippy cap users has went to these.

I,m with ya.are the caps threaded for flippy cap style threads?Got any more details on those caps?

As posted before, here's my solution: 21 cents apiece, shipped. Just pry off the old one and slip on the new one. 3.5mm x 25mm ID.
