Anyone having problems with the new fuel caps leaking?
If so, any fixes?
Mine seems to have a slow leak.

Never had a Dolmar leak fuel.

Just ribbing you.

I've seena lot of problems with wood chips, etc. in the fuel cap seal causing a leak. Fuel will leak out of almost anything.

If you're sure that it's the fuel caps then pull em off wash them in soapy water then hit them with an air compressor. Could also be the vent in the top of the tank thats leaking if you cut sideways at all just a thought.

Yeah, I've rarely seen a cap leak, but plenty of vents. Everybody else will chime in saying the new caps suck, but I'd say six of one, half a dozen of the other... :deadhorse:

O.K.
Checked out the leaky fuel can thing. Made sure their clean. Now I'll see if leaked stopped. Just want to clarify that it's when the saw is sitting on the bench, and not cutting.
Don't know about the vent potentially leaking. What's up with that?

Kind of feel I started something with that question.

Could someone fill me in the the tank vent ordeal?

As long as they're sealed, they've worked well for me. But, if you get a piece of crud, or a wood chip in there, it'll slowly leak out from there, sealed or not. Make sure it's totally clean in there.

Agreed... :rockn:

I also pinched the cord that retains the cap. Don't ask me how I did it, but I did. Leaked fuel all over the shop floor.

Old style vents leaked by design... they were bi-directional. Newer (last 5 years or more) don't - they trap outgoing and only let air in. Still not a good idea to store your saw unside down.
