Want to Buy Stihl hardware

Looking for that old coffee can full of random torx bolts, screws and nuts leftover from working on saws for years... anybody have one of those they want to get rid of?

Junkyard finds are the best for proprietary fasteners. I got most of my t27 torx horde from junked out ts400 cutoff saws……..

And no they're not for sale.

i got a couple bins of husky ones (not for sale) and a small bin of stihl ones (not for sale) go into a dealer and buy one bolt. i did once and decided never again. if i charged dealer prices for my fasteners i'd be sitting on a gold mine

I've had to do it twice on the last week to finish up a saw. $3 effin EACH for the coarse threaded screws for the handle on an 044 was about enough to set me off.

so you understand that finding someone to give up their stash ain't gonna be easy then. most of them have been where you are. 15 years ago in my case.

i've got a few but i'm not really willing to sell. even me over the years i am finding it takes longer to dig out certain lengths. i know a few guys on here with lots to spare but won't give out names. they will speak up if they want. good luck with the search.

What prompted my post was the coarse thread screws that hold the handle on an 044. I got them at the dealer in a pinch to the tune of $18.

I just found a guy on ebay that has decent pricing on several 4mm and 5mm sizes. I'll order about 30 of each...

Well my beard is not all gray yet and I do have cans of Sthil fasteners but I highly doubt I will be selling them anytime soon. I assume you know Bryce sells them in lots all the time

I found the lots he sells on ebay. Picked up 20 of each size he stocks. My biggest problem in keeping a stock of spares is that I end up rebuilding every saw I've got. I'm now on the prowl for some really messed up saws that I won't be tempted to rebuild busy to get some of the stuff like the brake handle screws and the av washers.

If you are ok with aftermarket screws I have the torx27 handlebar mounting screws, just picked up a bag of 500
lots of new fasteners arrived recently makes repair/builds a lot easier
