051 or 076. Note the hand guard, oil cap on the far side of the case, taller air box. A decomp and cylinder screws would tell us which of these 2 it is. Looks like it has a manual oiler. Don't recall if 051s had those.

My guess: 076 Super. The tall aircleaner is the tip-off. Otherwise it could be 050,051,075,076, but the 076 Super has a taller aircleaner assembly. I don't believe that the 050/051 had manual oiler assist, but the 075 and 076 do.

They're great saws, lots of fun to run but plenty heavy. Very good for milling, though, due to the tremendous torque reserves. Is the saw that you posted the picture of yours?

Here are my two big old Stihls. The is 075 in the foreground, 076 Super in the back. Note the aircleaner height:

That is an 076. I packed one of those monstrosities around for 2 years on the landing. Big, powerful, over 100 cc's, "AV" non-existent, loud, heavy, etc... You really have to want to run one of those suckers. I was only 17-18 when I was runnin' an 076. Made me into a man very fast.:D Learn to respect that power, and it will treat you right.

Good saw.
