A close friend has brought me a Stihl MS 180 it will start and idle fine, however it will not come up to full speed. If you blip the throttle you can get it to 3/4'” throttle and then it just dies at full throttle. Question is there an aftermarket adjustable carburetor made to bolt up, to fit under the carburetor cover to this saw. Also is it a problem to drill new holes for the carburetor H & L needles. Thanks again to all of the saw Gods on this site whom have been there.

Check the muffler screen, they like to get clogged, and certainly won't run that way. If clogged, remove and burn it clean with a propane torch. Then consider trying a different oil that will burn cleaner.
