Stihl OE 261. This was the last OE I could find new. I bought this saw the day after Thanksgiving. I ran exactly 1 tanks through it the day I bought it. Then the muffler was modded and timing advanced. Limiters removed and tuned to 13800 at 1900 feet elevation. It also has the de comp plugged. Saw runs incredible and gained close to 20% as this saw responds incredibly well to these simple mods. My brother would port for additional cost....but honestly this saw runs perfect as is. Has 18" bar and .325 chain. $500 for saw with bar and chain or $475 pho plus $25 shipping in lower 48.

UPDATE: The .325 chain needs sharpening and will clean up with a grinder. I will also include a 16" 3/8 bar and chain for complete price.

Thanks for the kind words! This saw is beautiful. Thought I would offer it here before I scratched one of the last remaining OE 261's with almost no run time.

Price reduced to $525 plus sipping for the saw with bar and new chain and will include original chain which will clean up easy with a grinder. Or $500 pho.

why would you have one on a saw this size is a better question...

less to go wrong with as the decomps are known leakers maybe?
Nice Saw,
I find its also easier to start without using it on my o26pro by reccomendation on a post i read here, i have all but stopped using the decomp button.

I never use a de-comp button. I think saws start better without them. Randy built me a 285 with a 2100 top-end one time and you better be dead serious when you pulled on that puppy. That saw would make a man out of ya! Really wish I would have kept it. I usually ran a 8pin 28" on it but would pull a 9 pin with the 28" just as well.......it was just hard to find trees big enough for the saw.

Oh but I do. Honda spray cleaner is my friend. I love that stuff but no matter what you do sans not using the saw, the white plastic yellows some with age and use etc.

In an earlier life as a salesman for a multi-line Japanese, Triumph & Ducati dealership, I used to think that Honda Polish was the best thing since sliced bread until I discovered Plexus. Originally created for use on Fighter Jet aircraft canopies, works just as well at preventing static cling of dust/dirt, polishes and shines, but doesn't streak and isn't slippery to the touch like the HP- Usually cheaper too. Both great products though.
