I was sawing last weekend with my MS 310 and heard a clanking sound and thought it was just my clutch making noise. Today when I removed the clutch I noticed a bunch of oil on the bottom if the inside case. I also noticed the oil pump was turned as if the srews came lose and the mount closeest to the front was broken off. Can I fix the broken mount with JB weld? I know that if I can't, I am looking at a new engine and I don't want to spend the money. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks!

If its the nipple on the plastic "case" you can drill it just bigger than a piece of brass tubing. Push the pieces together and plastic weld or epoxy them. It worked on mine and there is a write up someone did on hear with pics.

The part that broke is the one on the bottom half of the belly/engine pan. I will try to get a picture up.

Thanks for the link Scooter! I forgot about that site and really didn't want to have to take the saw all apart, but I would rather fix it right the first time. I may as well replace crank seals too while I'm in there. I am tempted to use some medium strength thread locker on those oil pump screws to keep them from working lose because I just had this saw apart almost a year ago to replace the piston and didn't use thread lock.
