Stihl ms261c too much oil

I’ve got a brand new Stihl ms 261 c right from the dealer out of the box new. I noticed when testing to see if the saw was oiling enough on a piece of cardboard it was leaking bar oil from the top of the chain down the side of the bar and all in the clutch cover. I usually run my saws wide open after adjusting the oiler to see the stripe of oil on a piece of cardboard or log. But this over oiling issue is new to me. I have the oil setting turned all the way down and the bar is sitting flush against the case. Has anyone had this problem?

Cut some wood and it will likely be fine. The chips tend to carry oil away. It's not a problem if you use a tank of oil to a tank of fuel. Your chain and bar will like plenty of oil.

Check the bar...I've heard of them making it out of the manufacturer with out an oil hole drilled into the bar on the side. That will cause oil to leak all over inside the clutch cover.

I had a brand new saw do that, after first running when the bar + chain seated together it went away.

That's not too much oil. You are perhaps more used to the lack of oiling prevalent with most small Stihls

Luxury, don't ever change it.

Most saws will have oil running down the bar if just piss revving. It’ll be dry as a cork after cutting
