Ok.......... but I am pretty sure a 461 and a 044 take a different handle

I'm not sure myself Bill - I've never had a 461. I know the 460 handle is actually a touch wider than the 440 handle and a 440 handle gets tight when mounted on a 460.

In no way am I trying to argue with anyone but I think they are different. I would hate to see anyone buy it and then find it does not fit. That is a mess for everyone and unfortunately money is wasted.

Here's a picture of the ms461 handle and I mounted it right up to my ms460 parts saw. I wish I had an 044 to see if they are all interchangeable.

They will interchange, I've done it.

Any 1/2 or 3/4 wrap handle in the 1128 family (044/440/046/460/461) can be swapped back & forth between each other. All 4 mounting screws holes will line up, no modding needed at all.

Only thing is 044/440 are about 1/2 inch narrower of a saw then a 046/460/461, so if you put a 461 3/4 wrap handle on a 044 it will just sit wider on the saw, more space around the body of the saw, with most of it being on the recoil side.

Opposite is true, if you put a 044 handle on a 461 it will sit narrower on the saw, less space around the saw. As alluded to in a earlier post in this thread.

If you hold a 044 handle up to a 461 handle, the 461 handle is only about 1/2 inch wider in the loop, but all 4 mounting holes line up. Hope that all makes sense.
