Stihl Serial number decode?

I just picked up an MS440 that unlike the last one I bought, actually runs.

I really like this model!

Interesting that this one has no compression release.

Can anyone with access tell me how old it is?

Made in Brazil. The serial look up machine doesn't give a year on Brazil made units. If you want to know if it is a MAG or Super take off the muffler and use a piece of wire to measure the piston. The Mag is 52 mm, Super 50mm
