Shawn I'm new to milling but I can tell you one thing to think about before diving in is handling material after processed. 44" wide slabs are by nature very unstable and very heavy even at 5/4 or 4/4 thickness. I would think you need both an alaskan mill and a mini mill to process logs of that size.
First you would break the log down to quarters and then process those with an Alaskan Mill.
Also remember a perfectly round log would yield a cant that is 70% the diameter. In your case this would be just under 31". That being said, a 36" Alaskan Mill, a 42" bar, and some ripping chain should get you started. I'd highly recommend an auxiliary oiler for a bar that size and get very familiar with your 075. I have one to put together myself and plan to mill with it but they are older and known to vibrate heavily. Loose nuts and bolts become projectiles on a chain saw mill.
Hopefully some of the other experienced millers will chime in.
