Still 084 ?? Should I bother???

I just acquired a free Stihl 084… doesn’t run… needs a new piston and jug.
Is it worth fixing or not??

I would say that depends on the rest of the saw. If all it needs is a top end, probably worth it, but you better darned sure figure out why it failed in the first place. Seems every part on the 084 is made of gold any more and many are NLA. Do some looking around at what parts are bringing currently.

The saw itself is worthwhile but you may find it sits all the time.
