I have a friend that has an 026 that still has the original .325x7 rim on it. I bought a new std rim for it and it doesn't fit. (new rim too big) What size is the OEM rim on an 026? The local Stihl dealer wanted to sell a whole new cluch drum / sprocket for it. I figure he would have had the rim.

Any advise? Default action is to buy an Oregon rim system for it and it can run the same rims as the rest of the neighborhood saws.

Do you mean the splines are too big? I ran into this at a stihl dealer a few weeks ago. My advice is take off the old rim and take it in, keep pestering him until he does his job and finds the right one. They DO make them. It took him a while, but he finally found it. I think he was feeling dumb because I had a stihl part that he couldnt find the replacement for.

The hole / splines in the new rim is larger than the old rim. I have seen on Bailey's site that there is a mini size. Is this possibly the right one?

You may be right. I will measure the sprocket on my 026 tomorrow and post what size it is. Hope that works for ya.

Yes they are referred to as mini splines. If you want just pm me your address. I'll drop a new rim (.325 x 7t) in the mail for you free of charge.

Thanks guys. I would take up the offer of the free one but I think my local Shihl parts man needs to learn a bit more about what they sell.

The pn should work great.

Thanks again,

Don

They also make an 8 in .325, with sharp chain and smaller wood, it works very well on a stock saw and would be my only .325 sprocket if the saw is modified.
