Im very safe, the storms are in northern queensland in Australia, its almost 3000miles away, I dont think its heavily populated and from memory I cant think of any site members that are based there.

I wish them all luck, I heard they were dropping alot of big trees before it hit

It's way up north and now heading west toward Darwin. Townships of approx 2000 population affected and have battened down the hatches in usual preparation, we have a warning system.

As I've mentioned in previous posts this is typical and happens every year. But they reckon this one "Ingrid" is the most powerful in a century, if it continues to head towards Darwin it may intensify again when it goes thru the gulf (they weaken over land and strengthen over water).

The next 24 hours will be interesting. But this is a long way from Brisbane, 3431kms by road and 38hrs non stop driving! A heck of a long way to go with a truck and chipper.

You make it sound like it's an entire continent ;)

Probably not by US standards!

I've been told that by a few guys who've worked down there for holiday (vacation for us Yanks) Sleep on the owners floor and work a few days for enough to pay for gas and food.

But if there are a bunch of +150 ft euc's down all over the place.... :p

We got 2 Cyclones

I've attached a map, there's 2 tropical cyclones (TC) on the go, the one on the left (west) of Australia is called Willy and the one on top is called Ingrid.

TC Ingrid is weakening but TC Willy is getting stronger, they hope it goes out to sea further.
