I have a 1800sq ranch home and replacing a homemade wood furnace with a more efficient wood furnace. I would like to heat my hot water also if possible. I have looked at a brunco 120, Yukon and a chief I think. Any recommendations would help.

Thank You
Adam

I have a Brunco 120 that I bought new in 1985 ($850) still use it today with no regrets except I wish I would have got the 190. I am heating a 1800 sq ft drafty farm house (2 story) & its not overly warm on windy days.If you are well insulated it would probably be big enough. I am not set up as an add on, but as a stand alone with it's own plenum & ducts & I cut the blower opening in the back larger to run a full size furnace blower. Hot water would take some modifications as they are not designed for it. I don't know anything about the other stoves so I cant help you there.

I think all 3 are fine furnaces.
For me I like the Yukon's gasification process. Not sure if the others have that.
I've had a jack for 11 years and it's always heated my home easily on very little wood compared to the old beast that was in the house when I bought it.
