Was out moving some firewood around and organizing the board pile for winter and came across some strange fungus that I had never seen before. I found 2-3 of these on a couple of pieces of white oak boards that I had left the bark on for a live edge table, then I came across the piece of firewood that had it everywhere. The white section was very strong and flexible and you could not pull it out from the wood or tear it off with your hands.
I'm not too worried about it (both the firewood and the board came from the same tree) as it seems to be pretty isolated, but had never seen anything similar so figured I would share.
