Stump grinding and suckers

I gave a bid on removing a large white poplar, and stump grind. The tree has been sprouting suckers all over the yard and adjacent yards. Will the stump grind reduce or stop the suckering? Or will that need to be done chemically? The customer wants a guarantee that the whole thing will be dead for good.

Any broadleaf weed control will work on it though, just tell them to get ChemLawn out for a few visits. Fall ester treatments will do the job.

Thanks for the advice, now that I think about it, it makes sence that the grinding would induce more suckering.
